Panoramic view of Tokyo from Bunkyo Civic Center

Although Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Metropolitan Office Tower give us an impressive commanding view of Tokyo, the view from the observation deck on the 25th floor of the Bunkyo Civic Center also shows us a panoramic view of central Tokyo. Although the view from it is at a relatively lower angle than that of the Skytree and the Tokyo Metropolitan Office, you still enjoy a closer view of the capital city.

The significant benefits include no admission fee, less crowding compared to the other two towers, and a central location in Tokyo.

It is also located next to the renowned traditional Japanese garden, Koishikawa Korakuen. I recommend visiting the Bunkyo Civic Center after exploring the garden or even before going there. You can gain a sense of the garden’s size and layout, which helps you understand more deeply the gardening concept.

If the sky is clear, you can also see Mt. Fuji and a beautiful night view of the capital since it is open until 20:30. Unfortunately, on the day I visited there, it was a little bit cloudy in the direction to Mt. Fuji, so I extract some photos from the center’s website. Unfortunately, the center is now under renovation, so we cannot enter until December 2026. I will update the detailed information once it reopens. Please wait for a while. However, if you want to enjoy a panoramic view of Tokyo with insights from an English-speaking guide with a civil engineering background, please get in touch with me via the “Contact me” link below. I would be happy to explain how Edo (formerly Tokyo) was built and developed into one of the most modern cities in the world. I will take you to other observation places, such as Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Tower, and Tokyo Metropolitan Office, until the Bunkyo Civic Center is renovated.
